In three hours, I head out to pick up my chicks....is it sad that I'm all excited?

that depends on how many guineas will find their way into that box..

we had very brazen foxes.. they would come out 24/7 to make their kills.. especially in the spring once the kits were born.
Ol Mom fox and her kids didn't even care if we were working in the yard or pasture at the time.. they would just sneak past us.. grab a bird and run

I wish I could send you my snakes and such, I don't care for them to much!! Especially after I almost got but by a baby rattler last summer that was laying in the middle of my water hose. I can't wait till my guineas are old enough to dispatch of all those critters.

Those guineas may not leave you any snakes to blacken....
that was my only complaint when we were raising them.. they killed off every lizard, skink and snake they could find... and i happen to like all three of those!

More than my husband will allow, at this point in time....I'll get back to you, next year

As for the snakes - I'm not too upset about that, if it means I won't be reaching into a nesting box and getting a hand full of black snake.........I did that as a girl and I swear it's scarred me for life

I like lizards, geckos and skinks, though...

awww... but I like snake grabbing!... seriously.. I do

I catch snakes barehanded usually.. most of them won't hang around long enough for me to go find a snake stick and come back

Otherwise, Cassie (in Elgin) says she thinks she will have about six pearl grays available this Saturday....so, I may be doing a lot of driving on Saturday

i used to have a baby rattler as a pet back in the 80's... I miss him
had to turn him loose when I moved up North... my family wasn't too fond of the idea of a rattler coming with me.. and I didn't think i could smuggle him on the plane either.. so he went back out into the pasture to go live out his life and make more baby rattlers...

I don't catch them, just dispatch them! I worry about my daughter trying to pick one up. She's fixing to be 2 so she doesn't understand danger yet.

I leave them alone out in the fields but when they come to the house they got to go!
