Texas

I just got an email at work from my husband...It tickled me and I thought some of you would find it amusing as well, so I'm going to share it...

You could always advertise "feather" beds as a draw for customers to the Five Cluck Hotel.

Aren't they cute enough without the dye? I don't get it.... But heck, in Houston they were painting trees blue to "bring awareness to things we take for granted everyday"

since every dog is different start out slow with the raw.. offer a little as a snack for a day.. then two snacks the next day.. let their system get used to it

after a few days start replacing a portion of their regular food with the raw.. until you are either feeding only raw or a mix of raw and commercial that you intend to feed.. then watch your dog's weight.. active dogs will need more than older lazy dogs and pups will need more as they grow.. so there isn't really a 'set in stone" amount since like horses dogs all utilize their food differently.

Once you have been feeding it for a week or so check your dog's ribs.. if you can feel them but not see them then he's on track.. check every week (once or twice a week) for a good month or two and adjust food as needed.

you can feed beef.. but see how your dog does.. some dogs end up with some really wicked gas from too much beef and beef organs.. and IF your dog has allergies you may want to be careful with the beef.. some dogs are more sensitive to it than others. We used to have a black lab that could NOT have beef in her food.. the gas would chase you out of the room.. and if she had any beef heart or liver she would have to spend the next week outside because of the "doggy diarrhea"

as for the fish.. I'm not sure since I don't have access to a lot of raw fish

I dont know if you remember me telling the story about my brother and the potato ricer..

the chicks were dyed easter chicks.. the only survivor was a little purple one

Quote:
they are usually white leghorns (or they were in the 60's) they are supposed to use food grade dye,,in a few weeks it wears off as the feathers start to grow in.. ours were usually tinted for several weeks.. but then again they also grew slower back then
as for idiots.. they buy them regardless of the color.. watch craigslist for the next few weeks.. lots of bunnies, chicks and ducks will be listed

Well heck 832 is an idiot up in my area

psst... we have idiots in the 254 area too.. I think it's a conspiracy....

wasn't all that long ago that someone had their horse, trailer and truck stolen when they went into a TSC http://main.montgomerycountypolicereporter.com/?p=61078

Yeah, this was a friend of a friend of mine. The good news is that they got the horse back - it was found tied to a tree behind a convenient mart with some other horses. Dehydrated and was sporting some new rope burns, but otherwise, fine.

Broody Orpingtons. Sheesh. I know it was Erebel (nephew named) and not Rocksanne, but one of these girls chased all the other hens out of the nest box area today and wouldn't let them lay in any of the 6 boxes. We searched the barn and found were everyone went for the back-up nest (behind the shavings bags and the stall - NOT easy to get to!) I'm going to have to move those two broody witches so everyone else can lay in peace!
