I live in Saint Jo. west of Muenster and Gainesville. Montague county. We are a border county to Oklahoma. My family breeds and shows bantam brahmas in light and buff.

Mornin to all........ I'm new to BYC. I live in Warren, Tx. Were about an hour north of Beaumont, and an hour south of Lufkin. I had 15 bitty's back in early spring but long story short I lost all of them. A friend of my old lady gave us a huge Rhode Island Red rooster. And 2 weeks ago I bought 2 Mille Fleur bittys, 2 game pullets, and 1 game layin hen. I lost 1 of my pullets to a chicken snake, thats the 4th pullet i've lost to chicken snakes this year. So if anyone else in East Texas has any chicken snake cures other than a .22 feel free to let me know......Thanks ya'll

They are just all around good birds my roo is a bit of a wuss though, do your roos seem easily whipped. If it is just this roo of mine I think i'll keep back a cockerel or 2 for a replacement.

I only have Brahmas.(79) So when they do fight(seldom), its with other brahmas. They are a laid back docile breed. I don't think they are much on fighting.

Its not that I want them to fight I want the roos to stay with their hens when free ranging. I have an Americana roo who you couldn't chase off from his ladies with a shotgun. When approached by even a young cockerel my Lt. Brahma runns away and leaves his hens unattended. I'm gonna replace him in the near future I've got a young roo that is looking real nice we'll see what he looks like in a few more months.
