I waved to them in the beginning and it didn't help. I think they are just nosy. I am just glad that their property only has one tiny corner that is near the front corner of mine. 

You guys are too funny. I think I have said about two words with my neighbors in the four years that I've lived here. I went and introduced myself when we moved in, threw a party, etc. - still don't know any of them. Except of course the people that live right next to us who seem to hate me for no good reason. Whatever! Their Loss! Aie ya yi. Sometimes us New Yorkers deserve our reputation for rudeness I guess.

I am more worried about being allowed to grow a big vegetable garden - must be the only person in Westchester county that grows okra - and have about 6 chickens. I'm not ready for the huge flock experience yet. I just don't want some helmet hair lady in a giant SUV telling me I can't plant peas and my dog is too big. 

Okra in NY! Just kidding Love Okra, grow tons of it every year

GMorning everyone. Wanted to let everyone know I-20 West and I -10 West are both closed west of Pecos and Fort Stockton TX. 8 inches of snow in Fort Stockton, and Pecos. I'll wait a little while to let some of the traffic to clear off of 385 before I get on it. Everyone stay safe, and warm.

Don't know anything about the school districts up around where you need to be. My mother is an elementary school teacher in a small town here in TX and I have learned that if I had children to send to school - I would prefer they go to a small town/rural public school than a city school. The city schools may have more money, but I think the teachers try harder to do more with less at more "country" school districts. And they don't have quite as scary of problems like the bigger towns and the city schools have.

I was just telling my husband last night, I went to a very highly rated public school and I still had some really awful teachers. Some excellent ones too but - just cause a school district has money doesn't mean it's the best, just that the parents are pushy. Learning has a lot to do with your parents too.

Love the snow pictures! I still miss snow. Although when we lived up north, I didn't care for having to dig the cars out of the snow before work after the early morning plows went through. But otherwise, I think snow is terrific! Now I'll go hide before the rest of the people try to "Gibbs smack" me.

I love snow too! From Dec to mid-Feb. Then I start to get fed up. When we get the surprise dusting that kills all my buds in early April, I really, really don't like snow!! I actually subscribe to Southern Living and I get down right ****** off at the planting schedules they suggest. So unfair... while I am going to miss real pizza, I will get a longer planting schedule. That'll do.

I keep telling my husband that chicken people are the best - you all have totally proved me right. Thank you all of you for your kind suggestions! I hope we meet up sometime at a poultry fair in the future. I wish I was doing the NE Poultry show on Jan 19 but I have a family trip planned then instead. If any of you are looking for a trip to see snow and chickens, I can't recommend that show enough, it's amazing - so I've heard! lol! Couple of us from the lower ny board are going to be there.
