he knows what I love.. one year for valentines he got me baby guineas.. another year it was ducklings...

i told him I don't need chocolates.. or diamonds.. or roses.. just give me critters.. lol

So since he is in Afghanistan this year and my birthday and Valentines are so close together.. he went online and got me a bunch of eggs.. when I asked him what kind they were he said it's a surprise.. but they are coming from several different breeders and it's several purebreds i have mentioned I want...

and this is AFTER he told me to go order some bantams!

yup.. he's a keeper!

One thing to think about when you're using PVC is that the sun will make it brittle and it will eventually break. You can get a little more life out of it by painting, but it will still not last.

I really like that tractor!
we are only in this house till i get out of school and move to a better place in the boonies! so a year maybe? as for painting... i may opt for the desert tan spray paint that the army gives its soldiers to paint their bags with.... idk?
its all a temporary fix to a perniment prollem! lol

Lol.. i plan to have them all built before he comes home.. they will almost be laying age.. can't keep them in a brooder that long!

yeah.. i can see it now.. 100 chickens running around the living room.. sitting on the couch and watching TV.. roflmao

Yep free stuff is the best. I worry more about it being functional that pretty. Tell those chickies of yours to get with it and I will send you some $

My pure black hen is still the only one laying regular. My black splits won't lay an egg. My lav hen has only laid 5 eggs in 5 weeks and 3 of those weren't fertile. The last 2 were fertile though and hatched 2 pure lavs.

If she will lay 2 or 3 eggs in a week I will ship those to you.

Little Wing that is a really well done tractor. How does the weight compare if you had done in PVC ? Yes I am slacking at work (hiding iPad)
I'm sure it is heavier than PVC but with 25 mph winds like today I'm glad it is heavy. I built it to be moved with a dolly but its light enough to pick the end up by myself and move around.
Ok I gotta post some baby chickie pics :) Silkied Ameraucana - I have a listing on the crazy 24 hr auction going now on eggs :)

Those are beautiful birds!

This is true. If you want PVC products that last, you need to get the furniture grade PVC that is supposed to resist UV rays better. It IS more expensive than regular PVC and can be difficult to find locally. There are places online where you can buy it.
Electrical PVC conduit is cheaper than both of those and is UV rated.

I'm just picking at you

I understand waiting on these girls to lay for sure...
