oh my, poor girl. I can only imagine how that happened. Did you suspect something was wrong with her or was she just being practiced upon?
dont know how she got the broken bone? i just brought her and 8 others in to be guinnea pigs for my friends.....
shes fine im taking her back in a few weeks when my old class starts radiology

We've used dog clippers to do nails and spurs. You really just take the barest tip off of them because the "quick" comes out a lot farther into the nail/spur than the quick of a dog or cat.  I thought I had taken just the tip off on a couple and still they ended up bleeding like stuck pigs.  Grabbed some flour and stuck the bleeding part into it for a few minutes to get it to stop bleeding.  No illl effects fortunately but I am sure the chickens were thinking "what in the world is wrong with that idiot trying to cut my toes and spurs off?"

I have a cross-beaked Welsummer that I have to trim down every now and then, and I use a pedi-paws tool. If I have time I make her a treat dish so she associates trimming with goodies. You can use regular nail clippers too. It depends on how dark the nails are.

I read something on here about removing spurs with a hot potato half and pliers. But I don't know about trimming. Are you using dog clippers? Is it about the same process?
yeah, just used dog clipperss. Was pretty easy. Didn't take much off tho. They still need some nail. They didn't even. Seem to mind it.

Lol that's ok. Maybe tomorrow. Won't be on tomorrow till late. Going with my cousin for his bday to winstar casino. Hope I win some chicken money xD

I will send you a PM if I get any info from her (if she's working).

Here is a picture of each of my Ameruacanas. I hope that helps as well. I always have trouble remembering how that is spelled.

My other EE similar to your girls likes to hide...but, she has the black tips on her hackles like your girls. Difference is she has tail feathers that are positioned very similar to a sebright's.

Am I missing the tales on your girls? Or are they rumpless like Araucanas?
