Hi! I hate to say this but I am so proud of myself. For me to figure out how to change my avatar is almost unheard of, I am definitely not computer savy!!!! But that is my little girl in the picture that is almost a year ago but those are a few of my chicks behind her. I will try to download some more pics soon.

Congrats on the avatar change!! Don't feel bad, I'm still trying to find out how to place my location on that google map using my tablet. It's not working!!!

Tough day today...the dane got out of her kennel and made a mess of the house. My daughter cleaned up the mess. Then, one of the ducklings isn't looking to good...kinda lethargic, but still active. Then found one of our RIR hens, a terrific young layer, dead in the nesting box...looks like she prolapsed. And then, my wife cut her leg on a piece of broken glass. Probably could use a stitch or two, but steri-stripped it closed. What a day!!

Pretty bummed. I've spent $ and time getting my garden perfect and planted...

Our city will probably have stage 4 water restrictions next month because of the horrible drought. I'm only allowed to water from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. on two days a week now... stage 4 means NO outside watering at all...

Anyone else dealing with this? My family depends on what I grow each summer... like... a LOT

Dorkings are definitely available from Ideal....**laughs** I picked up a boxload of them last week from Ideal. Drove over and got them, didn't have them shipped. They are not high quality Dorkings, and who knows what could possibly in the mix besides Dorking....but, they do have them

The rest of the colouration on that one makes it very clearly not a Dorking; but, yeah - the eyeliner and chipmunk stripe are Dorking markings - along with five toes. But, like Yinepu said - lots of chicks have chipmunk style markings....the five toes are the clue for Dorkings.
Looks like my dark cornish from Ideal from last year... :)

I don't know what our watering restrictions are. I don't have to pay attention to them because I water off my greywater tank and well.

I hope they don't put you to no outdoor watering at all.

Oh..my..goodness. I was gone for a few days and when I came back, there were almost 500 new posts to this thread. I have read every one of the 500 so I can up to date. Congrats to everyone with new chicks, they're so precious. And good luck to all those who are searching for some chickens or some chicken owners. Also, welcome to the new people on BYC. It's hard to go back and point out each and every one 'cause then I lose my place. This is one of my favorite threads.

I don't know how they can keep you from watering your life supporting garden, that would be like telling you you can't water your livestock, jmo :(
