OMG....

and NOW do y'all see why I never wanted kids (or to reproduce with those genes in my bloodline)???

Is anyone interested in game mix pullets? I've got 5 I'm going to take back to my work, to make room for bigger hens, but figured I would offer a few here before I do. (I live in new braunfels.)

I just got an email at work from my husband...It tickled me and I thought some of you would find it amusing as well, so I'm going to share it...

Seems as if he is having as much fun as the rest of us! maybe a 5-point hotel would be better (depending on the combs it houses).

sounds egg-stravagent!
LMAO!! Yall are going to make me cry from laughing so hard.

May 5th is a poultry trade day in conroe! would love to meet some people from the area!
That sounds fun

I am going to have to see what is going on about that time. I don't have any poultry I want to trade but I sure would like to go to be around my chicken people. I am driving my family nuts with duck and chicken talk, short videos, and photos.

oh hey.. i am the first one to admit that I have serious issues with the gene pool!

so no worries there..

I actually enrolled into the spay and neuter program as soon as I could find a doctor who would do the surgery

When you find one let me know? And where do you sign up for that program?

No seriously all the kids I want are my dogs, cats, ducks, and chickens, and what ever other farm animals that may pop up in the future. We have some serious gene pool issues in my family as well. I like kids as long as I can give them back. My cousin's, she is more like a little sister, has two wonderful children. I enjoy being "Aunt" with the chickens, animals, and plants. Other than those two kiddios, I am don't want any.

Give me the feathered and furry ones any day.

*no offense to anyone with children. kids just aren't for me*

ok.. remember.. you asked for it

So boys and girls... it's

VISUAL PICTURE STORY TIME!!!
wee.gif

disclaimer.. this is a true story.. please do not attempt to try it at home.. my brother was not a trained professional.. just an idiot who should have been duct taped to a ceiling fan (if they had ceiling fans or duct tape at the time in the house.. I don't think they had either actually.. but ...I digress)

So.. Once upon a time.. back in the 1950's my mother had bought a bunch of the coloured easter chicks..

several different ones.. red, pink, blue, green, yellow and purple.

she also owned an old fashioned (well it was the 1950's) potato ricer..

For those unfamiliar.. a potato ricer is a handy little gadget where you would lay a potato down inside it..

push down on a handle and it would shove the potato through a series of holes to make it similar to rice. (much to the dismay of the poor innocent potato)...

well.. my brother decided to "help"... so while my mother was busy tending to the many things she had to tend to..

my brother got the ricer..

and the chicks....

and well... you can imagine...

sickbyc.gif

the only survivor was a little purple chick

moral to this story...

never leave pretty fluffy chicks ... implements of destruction.. and my idiot brother alone in the same room together.. unattended .. and without benefit of a straight jacket or a rather large cage.....

Yinepu I had read your first version but have to admit this one is even better!

I feel for your brother. There were 7 of us growing up and we still tease each other about things we did growing up.

No offense taken! I have two beautiful children (grown up and on their own). I do much better with animals than I do kids.

People simply amaze me. Someone comes in with a newborn baby and everyone goes crazy over it. I just sit there and watch. Now if they would just bring in a new puppy, kitten, chick etc., I would be the first one there!!

You pretty much have to talk to your OBGYN and see if you can convince them you are sane.. know for certain that you DO NOT want kids.. and all that. It IS a challenge.. so you may have better luck with a female doctor too.. some of them tend to "get it" before the male docs do...

most of the ones I found kept wanting to put it off.. telling me I would change my mind .. it took YEARS for me to find one who finally asked me "well.. if you knew you didn't want them why did you wait this long to get fixed?"
he.gif

uhm... because the male doctors kept telling me NO.....
And for the record.. I'm in my 50's now with NO regrets.. some of us just have 0 maternal instincts when it comes to children... but have plenty when it comes to critters!

what can I say... I either got bored.. or creative.. either way I'm glad you could see the sick humor as it was intended!

There was also 7 of us in my immediate family.. 11 kids in my dad's and 13 in my moms...
so there were a lot of "horror" stories to go around!

I was even like that as a baby!
if someone brought a critter into the room.. didn't matter if it was a jar of spiders.. a frog.. or a puppy.. I would crawl over to it

but if they brought another baby or child into the room.. i would leave!

and sorry to say.. i have upset quite a few people when they would shove their new baby in my face expecting me to gush over it only to see me back up in horror...
those things just creep me out.. I'm not afraid of them.. but I don't want them touching me.. in my house or anywhere near me.. even the sound of children laughing and singing grates on my nerves like fingernails on a chalkboard

I'm just weird.. i admit it.. but at least I knew how I felt about kids and never had any to subject them to my ire.. granted kids are great for those people who WANT them AND will take care of them properly (i don't believe in abusing anything simply because it's just plain wrong in my mind).. but I just wasn't wired to be one of those people.

the sad thing is kids love me.. like cats to a cat hater.. they will do their best to climb on me or try to touch me.. and all the while I am trying to beat a hasty retreat...

Yinepu, large families are GREAT!! I was #4. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I was a tomboy (still am)!!

My nickname is Bug! I was always bringing bugs into my bed, the home, etc. My Dad always called me Bug or Bugger. I wish I could hear him call me that again...
