it's normal. It's also considered a sign that they are getting ready to lay. Congrats! That's what I assumed. Should I let it go? Do something to boost her confidence? She isnt really picked on much by the other girls.

are they ameraucana also? From what I hear, it's common for them to start laying later than other breeds. Have you heard the egg song yet?Oooooo I really hope so!!!!!! My two older girls, 24 weeks, could care less :-/
that's awesome! Hope you enjoy yourself!I will be making a trip down to Waco this coming Tuesday. I'm very excited to get to go see my niece and soon to be great something or other. I will also be getting to see my other niece and great nephew! VERY excited.

she's in the mood for love and wishing that you're a roo..*raises hand* I have a question! I have a 22 week old Amercauna, very pretty and super friendly girl. The last few days when I go into their run, an move to quickly/stand up over her , she hits the deck. Goes into a squat position. Very similar to the squat they go into when a rooster mounts them. I don't have a rooster. Why is she doing this??

Oh good that is awesome news. I love it when a hen can do the work. She is one of my Blrw hens. Because turkey babies are more fragile than chicks, does the pen need to have special dirt or anything in it? I have read people put sand down...yup.. people have broodys raise turkeys all the time
