Texas

Only reason I knew it was a predator, and not just they squeezed through and were hiding some where is I found a small yellow chicken foot. No dirt was distribed, no sigh is entry, or struggle or anything.

Coop question: we are building our coop and really chicken wiring the whole frame. We were thinking to wait until winter to put walls on to help them stay cooler in this hot tx summer. Would that be ok? We wired the floor, walls, roof, everything. :)

Lots of people use that set up year round. Here in tx it doesnt get that cold

I give up. Absolutely give up. Apparently I am not meant to raise chickens. A coon wiped out all of my babies over night. Just moved them outside. 3 hand picked EEs and 3 SLW that I beat the pavement to find. All of them. All that's left is 1 foot and a small bunch of feathers.

I am sooooooo sorry, I know you worked really hard to get those guys

Hey howdy from San Antonio...I have a very similar set up....I built my coop under the shade trees. I even have a shrub growing inside the coop! ..I just have a tarp over to keep out rain...but mostly keep it open and airy to keep my birds cool.

I am so sorry that happened. Hate raccoons and possums!

Hey fellow Texans , I've got a dilemma on my hands and need advice. I responded to an ad for eggs and my luck they had a load of breeds I wanted. I ordered a total of 7 breeds totaling 8 doz. So I had him send me an invoice for eggs to PayPal. I paid a couple days later but I told him before invoice sent when I could pay. Now two weeks later I haven't heard a peep from him. I've messaged him explaining that I'm on a rural route to let me know when shipped so I could look out for them. My mail lady is good and will drive in my entrance and place them inside my gate to my place. She's a chicken lover like us and is good to me but as far as shipper he's fallen off face of earth I think. What do I do?

PayPal and eBay will back you up. If its passed the estimated arrival date, contact ebays help desk and they will usually refund things like that.
