I haven't been able to reach Melissa Rose on the phone for a while either. As you said she was having health issues. I have a niece who's husband works with MRs husband. I will try to reach her and ask her to check on MR for us.
I hope she OK!

I removed one from my nieces apt for her landlord... that thing was like 4'x6'!!! they said it had been there for over 3 years!!! it was sad that he used spray on them in the past! over 1/2 of that comb was honey! I wanna say like 50-60# I want to relocate these bees and let them pollinate someones garden!!!
Yep. It's from mosquitoes. Nearly all of mine have had it but none got it really bad. None have been vaccinated for it. One of the online vet supply places has the vaccine, I think it's Jeffer's.The mosquitoes spread fowl pox bad, especially here in the city where they go from coop to coop. There are lots of people in this area that have chickens. The good part is once they get it, and survive, they won't get it again. Most of my grown chickens were vaccinated for it but I haven't done it in a while and a few of my young ones got a lite case of it a while back after a rain and the mosquitoes got bad. I've got a bunch of chicks right now, guess it time to vaccinate everyone that hasn't been.
Oh man, when I move I'll be getting some hives and would love them. But, I'll be like a 2 hour drive from you. Rats.I removed one from my nieces apt for her landlord... that thing was like 4'x6'!!! they said it had been there for over 3 years!!!

I think you can order a starter kit or build a box and rub some local honey on the frames and the scouts will find it and tell a queen," if you build it they will come!"
