Ive got a roost question. What diameter roost is ideal for adult chickens? I have some that i think are too small.
And also 10 inches per bird, but how much headroom do they need? Obviously enough to sit but is there a magic number for that?

I am def no expert but have read 18-24" above their heads and 12-18" away from the wall with 2' high several places. Then 9-12" of 'sitting space' per bird. They have to fly so you don't want them hitting their heads.

Mine happens to be a new digital unit it is so difficult to work on I should have bought and old type unit but wanted to try something new

I call James of Terrell tx he has be working on gqf for 16 yeas and he walked me through adjusting the switch spacing he has some units for sale on craigs list so I thought I would call him he was so help full
