This time of year, I can't imagine that they'd add any males for warmth! I've gotten chicks from Ideal twice - first batch was 15 and the second was 7. It was only a 2 hour drive, so I figured I'd save on shipping and go pick them up myself. Took my Dad to drive back so I could hold the box and ooh and aah at the chicks!

Yeah, i have spoken with them and if you pick them up there is no minimum purchase number.

Maybe I will just go get them then. Told y'all I was tired last night. Lol! My mind is consumed with chickens and a cruise. We leave in a week!!!! How are my babies going to do without me :(

I've got to pick up a new rooster and two hens in Castroville some time this coming week. Today I'm picking up some favorelles for a friend. I've got eggs ordered for a friend to incubate. Ahhhh!!!!!! Dang chicken math!

The "males for warmth" was taken straight from their website, I agree I doubt they are needed for warmth now but I bet they are added to get rid of the extra males that the hatchery has not sold.
