Hello! Good to meet you!Hello all I am in Fresno, TX we are in a rural area of Houston, TX. I have 12 Buff Orpingtons 1 Plymouth and they all came from Ideal Poultry I have had no real issues with them.
We have been extremely lucky with our girls and their laying. We have 21 hens RIR/NHRs and we get between 16 and 20 eggs most days. I feed layer pellets, bird seed as a treat, alfalfa cubes soaked in water and broken up (the LOVE this) and then cactus fruits every other day. Oyster shell free choice, and whatever leftovers they get from the kitchen. Thanks for the welcome! New to the website. We have RIR and Buff's right now. I will try to get some pictures of our setup. Its not as elaborate as anything else Ive seen here, but I like it. LOL! Right now working on getting our girls egg production up. Out of the 14 we currently have, we have had 4 eggs a day. I added in some minerals and got 1 more laying daily. So we will see how it goes.
I am considering buying Jerseys from them, did you have a good experience with purchase and shipping?Hello all I am in Fresno, TX we are in a rural area of Houston, TX. I have 12 Buff Orpingtons 1 Plymouth and they all came from Ideal Poultry I have had no real issues with them.
mmm... we have them everywhere here!!! I didn't make a pie but I sure froze them in gallon bags! At least I think that is what they were?? Thought they were black raspberries by the shape? This was 4 cups after just walking around the yard for about an hr with the lil ones who ate more than they saved. When are the "grapes" in season? Think I might have to look those up and see if there are any around here! Haven't seen a lot of cactus though :-(Yeah. Not to mention those delicious wild Dewberries. My mom makes a Dewberries pie that will make you cry. Never found them anywhere else but around the Corpus area
Ugh so jealous! I want to make jelly out of those so bad lolmmm... we have them everywhere here!!! I didn't make a pie but I sure froze them in gallon bags! At least I think that is what they were??
