Okay, did not want to quote all of your posts but wow, very well said. I have heard others and I myself have tried to explain this, but it never came out sounding as good as this. There are two ways to look at the history of the US colonization. You can look at it from the standpoint of wicked foreigners that invaded this land and viciously slaughtered the natives that lived here. Or you can look at it from the standpoint of oppressed people that were fleeing oppression and seeking a new land to start a new life, but the new land they found was inhabited by another nation that justifiably tried to defend their land, but lost the war. But whatever way you choose to look at it, always try to remember that it was not the evil colonist against the innocent peaceful Indians. The natives of this continent were just as much human (which means that they were just as evil) as the colonist and they had been fighting wars and slaughtering each other long before colonist ever got here. To think that the original inhabitants of this land were different then the colonist and did not have as much of a tendency towards evil as the colonist, is to believe that they were less then human and this is racism (Speaking in general here, not to you personally).
They drained off 2 Gallons of liquid out of my abdomen! It was such a relief!!!! I wish I had known they could do that! I had been soooo miserable trying to care for my Chicklets and Business and Garden in this heat wave with all that fluid. It was like walking around in a water balloon suit

Our new puppy is sooo very good with all the poultry though! She helps my hubby heard them back into the run after we let them out to free range! It is so cute she even goes into the run and will graze with them out of their feed pans
! Our other dog that just passed away was really aggressive to the Chicklets ! Here is her picture -![]()

. I actually ended up back in the hospital the next day with a badly septic leg. My liver disease causes my body fluid to separate out and settle in my abdomen and legs and thighs and I had been having a real bad time with that. We just adopted a new puppy from SAPetsAlive - a beauteous Australian Cattle dog or Blue Heeler - Luna and she jumped up on my legs and nicked the skin on my shin just ever so slightly. The next day I noticed my leg with the nick seemed to hurt twice as bad as the other so my hubby checked it before he left for work. There was no redness or anything so he left and I got up and watered my garden and fed my Chicklets. By about 1:00 in the afternoon my entire lower leg had swollen up even more and was a beet red with a rash and red veins streaking all over up to my knee
! He came home and took me to the emergency room at the Methodist hospital near us. They said I was lucky I came in because it was so bad it could have made my blood septic! When we were waiting in the emergency room to see a Doctor I jokingly told my husband I was going to tell the admittance Nurse that I was there because I was in labor

! He said "You better not!" I was so swollen from the Ascites in my abdomen I looked like it though! I only weigh a 120 pounds and I literally had 25 ponds of fluid in my legs and abdomen. After they checked me into a room to give me IV antibiotics they mentioned I could have the fluid drained from my abdomen! I had no idea
! They did it the next morning and it was so simple and painless and only took a Band-Aid to cover the needle whole they made

In my opinion people who have to list their credentials in their talking points are full of hot air!sorry no offense I'm just a stinker!
Actually I find it helpful so that you can better understand where the person is coming from based on their education and experience.
Melissa!!! Hugs and xoxo to you. I'm glad that you are back up again, especially with that lil cutie to keep you on your toes!! Let me know if you need help with the chickletsHiI am sorry to have posted then disappear

I don't agree. The dog can be acting sheepish because he is picking up on some vibe from you. It might not be that he is guilty.Ok I have to disagree (no offense) if the dog is acting sheepish then he did something wrong and he remembers it regardless on how much time has passed!
If the dog acts like he did something wrong you can usually tell by their demeanor... i.e. putting his head down when approached walking sideways licking his chops while holding his tail between his legs
I've also been involved with breeding, showing and exhibiting lots and lots of dogs for many years. I've also attended several week-long animal training workshops by a trainer that consults world wide for zoos. Having credentials is important. Your hypothesis is just not based on fact or science. In my opinion people who have to list their credentials in their talking points are full of hot air!sorry no offense I'm just a stinker!![]()
Italia ... Hey neighbor !Slinking and cowering is not an indication of feeling guilt because he did something wrong. Dogs react to your body language the tone/inflections of your voice. They often slink and cower simply in response to feeling negative vibes from you, regardless of whether or not they actually did something wrong. Most dogs learn pretty quick that certain behaviors from you indicate that SOMEONE did something wrong - especially if you are giving the dog the same vibe that you've given off to him on a time that you have appropriately reprimanded him for something. So of course with you being worried and throwing off negative vibes, even if he didn't do it, it would be very easy for him to be cowering and slinking because he knows you are not happy and he is afraid of being punished. But he CANNOT associate the punishment you give him today for what happened yesterday. And unless you actually catch him in the act, there is no proof that he did kill the chicken. I can't tell you what to do, but I really hope that you let this go, and not continue withholding food and whatever else punishment you were planning.
