Texas

DH just got his .50 BMG upper for the AR-15. I want to shoot it, but cringe thinking about the buck fifty ammo.

Hello Texans,
it seems we have a beehive forming under our roof outside.
Now the question, I started to think getting a beehive would be a good idea. But husband don`t want it, cause in Texas there is a 50/50 chance you get honeybees or killerbees.
Does anybody have a beehive and what are your experiences? You ever had problems with Killerbees?

We were just talking about bees last week. Do a search of this thread because I believe several people have them.

I am interested in them but haven't even opened the books yet.

There are also free bee collectors on Craigslist....or you might want to contact the Texas beekeepers assoc. for help.

Hi Paula,

I don't know how I missed this post earlier. I agree, humidity in Jacksonville doesn't hold a candle to what we can get in Texas. I moved from J'ville to College Station in 1987, and I've just been back for a couple of visits. I'll tell Stephen & David that you're my friend on BYC.

Anyone dealing with homecoming issues right now? I skipped out on homecoming and prom when I was in high school, but now I'm dealing with it. Stevie, my younger brother, told me yesterday that he needed a mum. He needs it Thursday. Darn him and his inability to remember when events are. I have to go to the craft store tomorrow morning, buy all the ribbons/flowers/do-dads/glitter/etc, braid ribbons, and make sure this thing can hang on a safety pin.

Apparently, mums are a Texas thing. Wasn't aware of that but now that I know, I realize that no matter where I move in Texas, my teenage daughter will eventually need a mum and I will loathe this time of year. Suckage to the max.
