Texas

Do you think that maybe since I haven't been letting them out of the coop/run and letting them in the back yard could do it? I am fostering a dog that is very interested in the chickens and I am afraid to leave them out with her around. My dogs don't bother her but the foster dog tries to get in the coop when I go in there to check water and feed.

It's a change in their routine so it is always a possibility. They don't usually quit laying forever, just until whatever stresses them is gone and/or they adapt to the new "stress'. Anything can stress a bird, things that we don't even think about can freak them out enough to be weird, even to just keel over and die for seemingly no reason.

Here are the mums my MIL made for the boys dates a while back. A good while back.
Those are glorious and humongous! I am just being given the base (the flower with a ribbon attached). So I have to braid everything and find little instruments to place on it (the girl it's for is in band). There are so many things to do and it had to wait until my paycheck came in. The stress! Oh well, I just have to pull all my creative genius to the forefront of my mind to complete this project. Hehehe...creative genius is a bit of an overexaggeration, haha!

Pearland, TX right outside of Houston area. checking in! Like everyone else from Texas I cant wait until the weather cools down. The 80s would be nice right now :) I can do without anymore triple digit temps for a while that's for sure

The cool weather from the other day gave way to 100° temps down here, too. We'll get our winter soon. It may be sporadic and mixed in with too-cold or too-hot days, but we'll get it! :)

Love this Texas weather one Christmas we are dressed in shorts other we are in thick coats freezing.

I actually don't have any chickens any more. I raised them for about 6 years through 4-H and FFA many years ago. Here just to learn more now. As I noticed a lot of my customers feed mealworms to their chickens. So what better place to learn more than the largest chicken forum online :)
