I don't know one way or the other on your chicken.
I ordered EE in the middle of May. They arrived May 15th. That would make my last batch 28 weeks old today. 3 weeks ago I started to suspect one of my girls as a guy... Then last week he started crowing! FYI, none of my girls from this May batch have started laying yet;(
I tried adding some pic's with no luck. There is a thread called "what is Legs" if you want to see him.

hens4therapy.... I have about 50, my partner has about 100. He is the one who feeds daily.

Hung that is a lot of chicken poop. Oh my. No I am not a poultry operation. Mine hens are strictly my pets. I couldn't take care of 100 of them.

Good Morning!!! Per earlier conversations- when I buy hatchery, I prefer Ideal. Positive experiences for several years.

I ordered mine from Murray last year. They were all alive when they arrived and have thrived ever since. I do have a problem with pasty butt (vent gleet) with my one rooster but it isn't connected to the hatchery. He is not contagious and has not infected any of the other birds. If I order again it will be from them.

Just don't order any frizzles from Mcmurray. I bought four last spring expecting half frizzles and half smooth. I got one frizzle and three double-copy frizzle. The double-copy frizzles are a mess. I have two left. The pullet is naked from broken feathers and is my kitchen laying eggs almost every day. The cockerel has all his feathers at the moment but can't cope with the cold because the double copy of the frizzle gene makes the feathers so weak, thin and without down. He's in the house, too. House chickens were not what I signed up for when I bought chickens in the spring!

MacMurry is breeding frizzle to frizzle, a big no-no.

I had a very nice surprise today....the first Black Copper egg!!!

In the photo I have it sat on dry ground coffee for color comparisons. I wish it were darker like some of the beauties I've seen on the BCM thread.
