Anyone on here have Dexter cattle?

I don't have Dexter's, but we may be breeding our mini Jersey's to a Dexter. Do you have Dexter's? If so, how do you like them?

I hadn't mentioned that I got a Great Pyrenees pup a couple months ago. this is what she looked like when I first brought her home:



She is growing now by leaps and bounds and I tell you, she LOVES her chickens! My biggest problem with her is that she wants to hold them down and lick them. She isn't' quite 4 months old yet. And I've never been a dog person. I never wanted to have a dog. But I love this pup. Hopefully I'll get a good picture of her to post. I resisted getting one due to the cost ($600 for a DOG?? Are you outta your mind???) and the fact that I'm not much of a "dog person" but this girl is just fantastic. She came from a local farm with goats and chickens.

I paid more than that for my girl Sasha. $600 for a GP sounds like a good deal.

I understand the "off the grid" idea, but really??? If you are off the grid you can't do this yourself and pay $400+, the knives I can buy with that should last me through any "break down"!

Awesome! Showing is probably my favorite thing about chickens. Not necessarily for prizes, but you never stop learning and never stop saying saying, "that ones pretty! I need one of those!" Haha

I wasn't sure about the costume thing either but I know the person putting it on so I thought I might give it a shot. You should DEFINATELY enter some eggs! I love seeing ameraucana eggs and not many bantam brown eggs are shown!

I could have bantam eggs. How are eggs judged? I think my bantam eggs are huge. My little double-copy frizzle Kitchen Chicken lays an egg almost every day in her big plastic tub in my kitchen. Her eggs average about 37/38 grams. None of my eggs are a deep color brown.

My Ameraucanas have been laying a lot of eggs, so the blue shell is a lot paler than when they first started. I don't think they are very big, either, averaging a medium size.
