Texas

My best friend is moving to Columbus today.  He left early this morning.  I already miss him so much.

Something for the upcoming cold snap.  I make ginger tea for people with sore throats too. I don't use a syrup though.  I just thinly slice some peeled ginger and steep it in hot water. Then I add lemon and honey.  People like it and say it works.  I haven't had a sore throat to try it on and I am not a big tea fan, but I do love ginger.  Ginger Chews candy is my favourite. :)

Speaking of upcoming cold....  Tomorrow is going to suck here!  Rain, ice and snow. YUCK!!  Staying home all day I think.  I may make a run to my sister's to drop some stuff off, but I may do that today instead.  It was supposed to be nice most of the day today, but the wind has already shifted to the north.  The Weather Channel never seems to get stuff right!

Please, please with ginger on top-keep that nastiness up north!!!

Well, hung, I'm 51, have 4 kids, 3 of which are grown and one is a third grader. My 3rd grader is not my biological child, but she's been in my care since 10 months old. In every way she's my daughter. At this point in my life it is all about making sure we are happy, healthy, and have everything we need. Not necessarily want! But I work hard to ensure she has the things she needs. I just saved up to get my iPhone last yr, so no new phone for me for a good while. Usually I'm at a stop light on the morning getting caught up on byc or on my way home in the afternoon. Hence some errors

If Prince Charming happened to fall out of the sky and landed unharmed in my yard, I might give him a good looking over. But I have a little one that is part of the package and most guys my age are pretty much done with kids, thinking about retirement, etc. So there's my life in a nutshell and why some things are just not important anymore!

Freedom, Happiness are .. priceless.

as they said in the movie, you can take away my kids, you can take away my chicken.. but you cannot take away my .... freedom

It is evident that you must be home from your mom's. Did you have a good visit? Who won the game?

My DH came home from work, sat down to watch TV with a BIG glass of milk and Apple Cinnamon Bread. :)

Lisa :)

Something happened in the last few days so.. all schedules messed up. I will be in Sugar Land tomorrow, then come back next weekend for my father memorial... and a funeral (unexpected).

Ms jellybean, I'm sorry about the moving of your bf. it's very hard when life gives us lemons. Is he too far to visit? I'm thankful for skype, texting and FaceTime on the iPad. This keeps me close to my daughter in Waco. :hugs

I love my BOs.

I read BOs are big ole sweet broody teddy bears lol
I definately "needed" some in my lil ragtag flock lol
Same with my Easter Eggers.Except those should be less broody. My Barred Rock is sweet too but theyre all still young. Hopefully they all stay friendly!
I wanted a Mille Fluer too, theyre supposedto be such loves, but i dont think theyre very productive. What about Faverolles?

Yes, I too have heard they are broody and also easily bullied. I th k I've narrowed it down to either Easter eggers, australorps, or Wyandotte. I'm going to do ozone research this month and get them in March
