He sells them straight run, so I would get at least two.  He is driving to Plano (near me) Memorial weekend and said he would bring chicks. Not sure how much the OE's are. I think around $3-5.  The lady near Bonham sells them for $5.

Oh. Hmm. I found some oe eggs from the same place I just bought my frizzled from. I didn't know she had any. so I'm going to order from her lol. I hatched 14 of 18 shipped eggs last time. I was impressed.

The gang is probably 2 wks old now. Will have had them 2 wks Thur. Going to put their feet on the ground some this week but nights still in the brooder until it gets warmer at night. What is a good age to move them to grow out pen. they are still getting some extra heat at night...Saturday night I forgot to turn on the lamp and they were all huddled together in a corner so is still too cold for them w/o the heat at night.
Also when can they get something besides chick feed and a few treats? What is a good feed? If I understand they should not get any kind of layer mix for sometime.

Your baby needs buddies. Get at least 2 for him to hang with. :)

Why are you getting rid of them? Sadly, I'm at my limit with my current coop. Have to get my run built before I can get any more.

@Ms Jellybean ~ It looked like rain here this morning too. Cloudy and cool. Sun is out now, so should warm up for t-ball practice this afternoon. :)

I started work on my raised garden bed this morning. I only have a few cinder blocks to start with. I really just want to see what it will look like. Getting cinder blocks straight and level is a pain in the hiney!!

Tried selling no luck have 27 more chicks and thought if some of my BYC friends needed some they could have them because I know they would have good homes.

It never rained here, sure did look and sound like for a bit. It passed just north of me.

I did the raised bed cinder block thing. Yes, it is a pain. I put another bed in front of my cinder blocks to I did my best and didn't worry if they weren't perfect. They are pretty darn straight and almost all the same height. The yard slopes some so making them all the same height was a bit of a challenge.

I honestly think I couldn't do any worse than the current guy in office. I'd be willing to bet I could do better.
