If I had not gotten sick I would still have it. I had a job that payed very well before I got sick. Now I can not work a full time job and I am on disability which is less the. Half of what I made on my job. I would love to go back to work it's hard to go from being the guy that run everything to sitting on your but watching the tv. What happen to me is I had a drunk man hit me head on at 70 mph 11 years ago. I spent a year in a wheel chair but went back to work 2 months after the wreck. In the wreck it broke both legs to the point they wanted to cut the them off. Bike my back , face and damaged my Pancreas. I worked until my pancreas gotten worst and put me in the hospital for 9 months. That is when I almost lost everything I had. The bike was the 1st to go but I guess being alive is better then not!! It was 3 years ago that I went into the hospital and have not been able to work after that.

Just stay home and enjoy raising chickens. This is what I am looking toward in a few more years.

My crazy chicks are running from the coop out into the rain and back into the coop. I believe they are having fun! I put a heat lamp up in the coop. Am I being too overprotective??

Lisa :)
No, specially if they don't have all their feathers. I'm not putting any heat out in mine, but I did extend the clear plastic on the brooder to give them more of a wind break. It's whipping in all directions!

Sorry this had to happen to you Matt. People say life doesn't give you more than you can handle, but sometimes I really wonder. It sure changes the plans we have for our future.

And I thought for sure it couldn't stand for Easter Eggs.... So not necessarily a certain breed just one that makes pretty colored eggs?
Usually, an Easter Egger is a cross between an Ameracauna and another breed of chicken. Depending on what that cross is, determines what color egg you will have. Ameracauna's have blue eggs, and EE's can have blue, green, brown or white eggs. Not all EE's will have colored eggs. They only lay colors if they get the blue egg gene from the Ameracauna.

It's cold and windy here. The sun is out, so should be a clear night for "mooning", LOL. I plan on see the blood moon, but no guarantees.

Me too Hung, me too.

The Full Moon is out in all it's glory!! Gonna be a good night for "mooning" :)

Glad all the storms have moved out. Only got 1/2 inch of rain since yesterday but that's better than none!

Well I'm joining the overprotective flock tender club. Sick babies are all inside, enjoying their lamp.

Threw some tin and tarps up around the coops on the teenagers and Lyle's gang.

While he was doing that, I played with this cool looking spider. Guess he goes well with the moon tonight.

We had company this weekend and they left an extra bottle of wine...I got a little to involved with the bottle while trying to make dinner...

The kids are excited, we are having pizza! The chickens are happy, they are having Salisbury steak tonight and they don't even know there will be more tomorrow!

Yes, the dogs would have loved some too but the chickens give us eggs and the dogs give us, well...not eggs!

I am the happiest...I am having another glass of wine, its been a long day...
