It's been awhile since I was on here last. So many pages went by! I'm not going to read them all, very busy these days.
Hubby and I are doing spring cleaning projects around our place and I decided we needed to do some updating on this old house we have. I'm getting a new kitchen! What a mess though!!
I have my garden planted and things are growing well. I'm doing weekly spraying with Neem Oil. Can you believe we have some good sized grasshoppers already? I thought for sure with the winter we had we wouldn't be seeing them quite so soon.
I have 18 eggs in the incubator right now. I wanted pretty eggs this time so I got some blue marans eggs and some cream legbar eggs. I'll keep a roo from each and hopefully get a good number of pullets. I'll get some Olive Eggers in the future then too.
Even though I have ben keeping chickens for 30 years I still like to do reading on chicken care. I just like to read in general. I try to learn something new every day and what better way to do that than to read? Yes, there is some conflicting info out there. What works well for one, may not work well for another. I read and try what I want and see how it goes.
It's sad that there are people in the world that can't read, even sadder that won't read. Then there are those who are so closed minded that when they read or hear something new they won't even try it to see if it is valid. I like to support literacy groups. My favorite is reading to kids at the library. Such a good cause. I encourage my kids to help as well. My daughters love it too. My boys not so much.
