Ok..Tylan to treat mycoplasma...It also says oxytetracyline or erythromycin. Tylan is out of my budget...but both of the antibiotics are do-able. Any suggestion to preference? One better than the other?

I have a bad feeling about my little maran. Went down to check on her and her eye was stuck shut and when I cleaned it nasty, slimy fluid came out....I fear she may have mycoplasma...the same thing that took my little Houdini. Her apetite is good but she is lethagic. No sneezing and nothing clogging her beak yet. That junk is contagious too right?
And once infected will always carry it. She will stay isolated until know for sure. I don't remember if it's treatable or not either, gonna have to go back and read up on it again..

i would say erythromycin just in case thier is a chance your bird is allergic to penicillin and sense the build up was in the eye and head area it's not as Broad-spectrum as oxytetracyline but it does the job just as well.

After searching the web for chicken coops, I decided on the club from mypetchicken.com $479.00 free shipping!!,,
After saving for 3 months, I bought it, woooowww what a huge mistake!!!!
Please, please I am not trying to put down the company, I am just stating what a terrible experience I had.
The coop arrived with in 1 week of ordering which is awesome!
I hurried home started opening the 1 box, and WOOWW Broken, spilt wood here and there for a total of 6 parts
1. Quality is very poor! Made out of pine wood, 1. 1/2 thickenes.
2. craftsmanship extremely poor none existent! Even I know that pine wood is a soft wood and it needs to be pre drilled before to avoid split and cracking the wood.
3. The measurements are not exact ( Huge gaps in the front door, the latches do not go in completely cause the door is 1/2 inch smaller! So there a big gap there
Not secure at all
4. The nest box lid does not have a tight fit so, again a gap there (bugs can get in, mice etc) the floor of the nest the same gaps on the floor. Ah and the door hinges also not workable, I had to remove a part of wood they had installed to be able to actually open and close the door.
5. It is extremely small !! There is no way chickens can be comfortable there. My chick are 12 weeks and is barely enough space for the to go and sleep in there.
Should I go on?.. Honestly, I an totally mad as he'll because I called before buying it and spoke with a CS she assure me that this was a great quality product
And that 3 chickens will fit comfortably in it! But, she also said that it would be better to sale it of in Craig's list, instead of returning it!!!! Because of the shipping fees
Well, I was stupid and bought it. The moment I opened it I called, the lady said she would call back with info in fees and how to return it.
It did not happened, yeah they offered me a free run, and to replace the parts. But that is not what I wanted, I did not want this piece of garbage that cost me so
Much money and that I know it will not last more than a year.

Ok you been warned ! Do not buy a CHICKEN COOP THAT YOU CAN NOT SEE FOR YOURSELF. AH BY THE WAY THE ONE THAT SAMS CLUB HAS IS MUCCCHHHH BETTER THAN THIS ITS CEDAR AND THE WIRE MESH IS THICKER.

Sorry you had to go thru that. I have done a lot of research on coops, as I build them as a side business. It is always better to see for yourself and in person, the quality and craftsmanship. Yes, you will pay a little more for a custom built coop, but it will last you a lot longer and your birds will be happier and healthier. Thanks for the info on this company, let's hope no one else goes thru the same thing!!

My experience has been that most pre-fab coops off the Internet are absolute crap. Just take a look at Amazon/eBay reviews. It seems build-your-own is the best way to go. As the old saying goes: the only barn you are happy with is your own.
That being said, I don't currently have time to build my own right now (too any criminals). I am seriously thinking of buying a storage shed and converting it to a coop. Anybody have good/bad experiences with such or things to think about/tips?

Well...I lost 3 chicks last night....
No signs of struggle, no spooked birds, nothing.
Sometime between 1pm, when my husband checked on them last, and 5pm when I got home from work, they disappeared.
We've walked all the surrounding blocks..
There was just one chick left, the adventurous one that was brave enough to break from the group and do her own thing.
I'm still hoping they maybe find their way home but...after being out on their own at night..

Don't have personal experience, but I have heard of many people doing this and it working great. I think the main issue here is ventilation for summer.

And I do live in a hot area (West Texas) where daytime temps in July/Aug can reach triple digits.

I think the main conversion areas will be:
much additional ventilation
cut a pop door
install roosts, with a screened poop board/pit
next boxes, perhaps with outside access for gathering eggs
cover wood floor with glasboard or something resistant to moisture/rot
windows with hardware cloth
make sure all gaps are sealed or secured
wire for electricity
