Nope! Lol. I started thinking of names early, but I didn't actually name any until I was sure my losses were over.
It's hard to get attached to one then have it die

I have to think of a name for my surprise now. Lol.
it's why i like to wait for the animal to get at least 2 months old before i name it.

I have a question. I have 8 hens, that are laying well. 4 live in one coop, 4 live in the other coop. 1 coop is 4ft x 4ft with a 60 sq. ft. run. The other coop is 6ft x 4ft with a 30 sq. ft run. I realize I have to add to this run. I want 4 more birds, to make an even dozen. The 8 birds free range together and seem to have a pecking order established. They get along well, whether cooped up together or free ranging. I want to introduce 4 new birds, but have both "flocks" accept them. Any suggestions??
it depends how old are the birds?

Thank you starfire and winteree he was euthanized. It looks like the reason for cause was the de crowing surgery. However there were some plaque in the back of his throat which was really concerning the vet. So they are checking for diseases for us for free. The state vet. He had alot of non moveable scar tissue in his trachea. However we will see more later down the line next week and see what all was the cause. Wether he had disease or not. Mean time no body who has birds can come here and us can go no where people have birds.

Oh and to make things worse my moms dog has to go to the vet as she had a double siezure.
i feel you there. our dog Pete is 16 and we wanted to put him down like 6 months ago when he lost his sight, hearing, and mobility. But every time we bring it up my dad throws a 2 year old fit. And last night he couldn't get up on his own and breathing hard so we where going to call out his vet to put him down. Then my dad threw a massive fit and broke my phone when i was on the phone with the vet. So now we are most likely going to have to watch him gurgle out like one of my cats a few years ago because my dad is too **** stubborn to let him go
