Usually the follow up treatments are around 2-3 week intervals. I understand about the throwing out the eggs. Thing is, there isn't a lot of information out there on how long any residue can be found in the eggs because most chicken medicine is based on commercial production information and they don't give stuff to chickens, they just kill them. It's really up to individual people as to how long they want to wait before eating eggs again. Most people I know that do routine deworming don't throw out their eggs if the eggs are for their own use and are not going to be sold or given away to other people.
I was going with 2 weeks because that's what the bottle said for meat birds before process (and what I've read other people have done). I might play it by ear. I've thought about keeping the eggs and feeding them back to the chickens but that defeats the purpose...I might cook them and give them to the dogs after a week...I don't know. Of course if parasites are the hidden reason they've slowed down on laying and they start back again, it shouldn't take long to get caught back up.

yeah thats what I was meaning. I have more of ibs c then d but I have both.

I have both as well. After discovering what foods made it worse, most days I am fine and don't pay it much thought. But when the holidays rolls around is the worst for me. All those yummy foods that I can't eat.

Our poor old girl (german shephared) had a seizure again last night poor baby.

I am so sorry

Just took better picture of my girl Cheyenne. I rescued Cheyenne from a puppy mill, and called animal control after I purchased her. He had 16 adult dogs and 4 pups, all very sick. I chose to rescue Cheyenne becuase she was 1 of 2 pups that did not look to survive much longer, the other being a solid white male with horrible eye infection and loaded with worms as Cheyenne was. However, I did not have enough money to purchase both dogs, Cheyenne in my opinion was slightly worse off just skin and bones, and if I took both and animal control did come but didn't see how bad the dogs were, nothing would have been done. I left with a very heavy heart, it kills me not to be able to save them all. Animal control never called me back, and when I called them they would not tell me if they had even checked the place out. I offered to send pictures of Cheyenne and her vet papers showing how sick she was when i brought her, along with her AKC paperwork (I didn't get a bill of sale, but the paperwork shows the breeder name and could be used as proof of where I got her), but they told me no. I purchased her in Houston.

Anyway, on top of her illnesses, Cheyenne had never known human touch, she screamed when I picked her up. She was terrified of grass as she had lived all (11 weeks) of her life on a concrete pen with her mother and single sibling. (the other 2 pups were from a different dam, he had 3 males and 13 females that he bred. The male dogs didn't even have kennels of their own, they moved from female to female to breed them). The man always power housed the concrete free of poop, so she also didn't know what being dry felt like. To this day she is terrified of strange dogs and people, no one but us can get close to her and she clearly prefers my husband to the rest of us (my hubby is a big softie, when I brought her home and he saw her condition he never got mad that I brought her even though I was supposed to be looking for a second breed able female for our Siberian breeding plan). We have come a long way with rehabilitating her, but she will never relax when outside our home and we can therefore never re-home her (not that we want to, but due to her circumstances it could never be an option for us if something bad happened and we had to reduce our pet population). She is AKC registered, and both her sire and dam looked pure bred, but IF she is pure Siberian she is a horribly bred 1. Siberians do NOT come in brown, red yes, brown never. Also, her nose is too long, her ears too tall, legs too long, and her tail don't have the Siberian sickle curve over her back. Because of this, we will have her spayed and simply keep her as a spoiled pet. She is 8 months old.

your dog is lovely. Its ok, she is doing better today but poor girl kept falling over and had no control over herself. Idk if she is still falling over today but she is better. We ran out of her meds for one day and that next day we went to get it, on monday, she had the seizure. She is back on her meds though so hoping she will level back out again. Each seizure seems to really be more worse then the one before due to the wY she responds to it even if it was shorter then before. I havent yet really figured out what makes mine worse or not. I know cheese makes it worse. My doc said stay away from dairy, but yogurt was fine

I hear ya, it's hard not to be able to save every animal that needs it. Heck, we even have a chinchilla that was going to be thrown out on the street - literally. All you can do is what you can and pray for the rest that you can't personally do something for.

Thank you, we think all our dogs are just the most beautiful/handsomest dogs ever! But that's any dog owner, lol. Our 6 pouches are a handful but we wouldn't have it any other way. They are our babies.

I hope your girl gets better soon, it's hard to see them in pain and not be able to help. They think we can make anything better and it kills us when we can't.

For your IBS, keep a list of what you eat for that day, then how if affects your IBS. It's trail and error, and there willbe really bad days as you figure out the foods that make it worse. But in the end, you will be able to go for longer stretches without flair ups. Hope you get a handle on it very soon.

If I was rich, I'd buy a huge track of land and build a rescue facility on it. Then I'd be over run with dogs, cats, chickens, geese, ducks, horse, and whatever else I could find, lol. I do what I can and try not to think too hard about the ones I couldn't save.

Starfire...It is awesome that your animals live pretty much in peace. It's up to the people in the animals lives that really make the difference. I have three big dogs...lab/pit mix. boxer mix, and a shepherd mix. They share house and yard with 16 cats. They learned tolerance, then acceptance and finally some have reall affection for each other. It took some disipline and training when we brought older animals in but the ones that grew up together have had few issues. My cats have a covered 12 x 24 "play room" that's enclosed with wire, there's shelves and climbing poles, places where the cats get "outside time" safely and the dogs can't go. My outside cats roam the dogs' yard and even sleep on top of the dog house...or the chicken house. Anyway...your animals have it made in the shade!

Lol I think my animals have us trained! We spoile them rotten and they know it. but when we first introduced kittens to Rascal, Sasha and Dawn, it was a little bumpy. When we added Fiona, she had never seen a cat and mouthed my kitten Kiari! I rushed the kitty to the vet thinking broken ribs, only for the vet to tell me she only had a few bruises. After that Fiona learned not to mouth the kitties and now snuggles, grooms, licks, and defends them. Now we are going through puppy stage playfulness with 2 puppies at once, lol. But they have already improved a lot, and the cats and older dogs are all teaching those pups what is ok and what is not.
When I first saw Kagura molesting Dawn for attention I could not figure out her fascination for the dog, and I was worried Dawn would bite Kagura. Now both parties are very closely bonded and possessive of each other. I still don't fully understand their bond, but every time I see them snuggled together (which is everyday) I can't help smiling and being grateful for it. Kiari and Fiona are my other strange dog/cat bond, the largest dog and the smallest cat, lol. But they love each other in their own way. When I show pictures of the awesome foursome peoples eyes pop out of their heads. They can't believe how close those guys are. And I feel privalaged to have them in my home.
