Texas

My chicks are only 3 weeks. What I would give to have had a broody hen do this chick brooding thing. I was lucky 3 times when I stuck chicks under a broody Buff Orpington. Blondie just looked at me like I was crazy when I tried to talk her into taking care of these babies. I love the chicken mind. It does not really care what you think.

Can someone please help me! The friend I usually have take my roosters can't take anymore and is having some medical problems so I am in a pickle! I have a beautiful Delaware x Red Star cross cockerel named Houdini (named this because he got out the brooder once as a chick and we still don't know how!) I really need some help as he started crowing this morning. Please DM if interested and I'll send a picture!
Thank you -Alicia M

I know you're just fussing Kate. I am too!! I got my 4 wheel drive 35hp tractor stuck in my firebreak in January. I tried digging and winching it out but it would not budge. Front right tire was in the hole from a stump. My axles were buried. It sat down there for nine days before I broke down and had to pay a guy $400 to go down there with a Cat. to get me out. He lifted the front end and drug me 8 feet and I had from there.

I have more water standing on my back 53 acres and it will be a bumper crop of skeeters this year. The only dry part of my property is my front 10 acres. I have been trying to get a prescribed burn done on my back 53 for two years now and it has been put off till next March now.

It sure is a beautiful day today!!!

y'all keep bitchin_. It makes me feel a whole lot better about the trivial things I'm dealing with. I hope things get easier for everyone.

These cream legbar pullets better lay some beautiful blue eggs. I can only keep one cause I can only have 3 hens in my neighborhood. Guess I will see where I stand with chickens in 5 months. I would get in trouble if whoever counts chickens in my neighborhood counts 4. Heaven forbid.

The things that make ya go Hmmmmm

I feel for you guys that had hail. We have had very little rain and need it badly. The lakes here are at all time lows and our stock pond has been getting lower and lower so we would sure take any rain.

I am looking for the following if any of you close to my area have any to sell. I hope to find some Brown Leghorns, Standard Games and some Heritage Turkeys. I am between Lampasas and Bend Texas. I travel to Round Rock a couple of times a month so could go anywhere in between or in the area. If you have some to sell let me know. Thanks, Ed https://www.pinterest.com/wildedtexas/ranch-life/
