Had a good time this morning at the Conroe trade day! Got to meet Ken, but missed Kate/orumpoultry.
I had hoped to pick up some silkie chicks, but didn't see many. None that were the blue and black colors that I wanted.
I did get a POL trio of silver Sebrights, and a blue laced red Wyandotes chick.

That's to bad you can't make it! I'll be going, didn't get to make my shirt. Had to much going on this week. I'm bringing my cameras though, I can show off pictures! And take some.

The wife and I really enjoyed meeting and visiting with y'all today. I hope your camera still works after pointing it at me. lol

Maybe try to add on some more chicks the same age and around the same number there are, and if they are large fowl and you want to add bantams add some that are a bit older so they can fend for themselves, that is usually what I do and has always worked well!

Yeah, we just stopped for the day. We have the frame on our 16 foot run done, It is right about Six Food 5 inches tall, stapled in most of the bottom hardware cloth, put up the door I made, latches and all. A lot more hardware cloth cutting, and a chicken wire top and the run will be done. After that, I need to finish the frame for the 55 gallon rain barrel, hole drill through the barn siding, and set up the Chicken Fountain and that coop is done. It sounds simpler than it is.

The first thing you need to worry about is housing that is as predator proof as you can get it. My advice is when you buy or build your coop/run, don't use chicken wire. Use 1/2" mesh hardware cloth. It is more expensive, but worth it in the long run. Also, make sure there is plenty of ventilation in the coop. If you need anymore help, just ask> Again, WELCOME!!!

Is it normal for naked neck chicks to have no fluff on their bottoms and sides? Or did I get a really naked lil one haha. Not that I mind, still think they are cute. Also on Easter eggers, do roosters feather in slower? I have one with way less tail feathers than the other two his age, and thicker leggs.
