Texas

Does anyone in the north texas area have a pullet bantam they would be willing to trade for a rooster bantam? I ended up with 3 roosters and 3 hens and they are already fighting.

You can raise any of the Japanese or European breeds of Quail such as Coturnix, Button or my favorite, the Texas A&M Whites without a TPWD license.  I will tell you that quail are more work, more worry, stress quicker and are much more expensive to raise for meat and eggs than chickens.  JMHO

Yes. They are not considered have birds.

My dog had her puppies this morning. 8 healthy pups! 3 boys 5 girls!

Pups are adorable!!! Any suggestions on riding my run of squirrels? Blasted things are killing me in feed. I have set a trap and they are ignoring it.

My hens aren't old enough to be outside but I do have a garden and my cats seem to do a decent job at harassing the neighborhood squirrels. I also have a friend that has a huge black tom that would bring her headless squirrels. It also brought her a young pullet from a neighbor once, didn't kill it just brought it to her thankfully, so they're a bit of a double-edged sword. It makes me think that maybe it found the squirrels and the chickens in the same place.
