Keep getting a glitch when I try to post pics. So I guess I will take pictures with a camera and hope that my dial-up connection can handle posting them.

It took me forever to realize I could still grow things in the fall and winter here. All the garden resources told me it wouldn't work and then I saw the plants growing just fine in other's gardens. When all the resources say I need to do something a certain way and I'm new at it, I don't think it occurs to me to question it easily. That's one (of several) reasons I hang out here so much, to glean as much info from folks experienced in raising chickens in heat - everything else (online and printed materials) seems completely focused on protecting chickens from cold. Takes a different approach in our climate. It's the same with gardening - the seasons are flipped for me (winter being the best time to grow many things). There's so much info about managing the garden in cold weather, "waiting to plant until the soil is warm". And cold frames? Like I would ever need a cold frame...![]()

Would you put any ventilation on the floor of the over night coop? I ordered an incubator warehouse incuview incubator today. Now I have to start collecting chicken eggs and looking for a guinea nest. We had three nests in the pasture that we had found and all were destroyed by either rain or predators. I know they are laying I just can't find where. Anyway I will keep you informed on the incuview and see how well it works. ET![]()
Let us know what you think about that Incuview. Have been looking at that one. Have a small Brinsea that is great but they are so expensive. Have a Hovabator Genesis that I'm not real fond of.
They have SOLAR attic ventilation fans at home depo CHEAP
Ditto on the letting us know. I'm definitely interested in hatching eggs next year.Just ordered it this morning and already got an email with notice of shipment and a tracking number.
