First eggs are exciting. I've got three pens holding out on me. February hatches. Should be laying any day now.

These are my beauties. I am impatiently waiting for their first egg. They are 19 weeks old today. I notice their faces getting really red about a week ago. I feel like a stalker now. I added a couple of ceramic eggs to the nest boxes today. They look like they are practicing their squatting. Does anyone know if the heat will delay their laying?

Five hours at the hospital. Two hours of sleep. Off to work a 12 hour shift. Thankfully John didn't have to be admitted. He has a bad infection in his colon and intestines, his white blood cell count was through the roof, and he had dangerously low potassium. They have him on a gazillion medicines now.

Hi Texan flocks! Does anyone have a female polish for sale. I dont like the idea of ordering one online and having it sent. I lost mine the other day and my heart is hurting and want another ASAP. I looked at the forum for chickens on sale. I dont get it, ads are years old and its a mess, maybe I just dont understand how to search in that forum.
