Haha all I have ae chubby birds, aside from my araucana, and the younger American mix, otherwise I have for, sex link, Cochin, silkie and turken. I am hoping to order a few other light breed hens from the hatchery. We shall see. :)

Hope everyone Had a wonderful Christmas!
I am looking for anyone near Fort Bend or Matagorda county that either wants to share a order from My Pet Chicken or already has Black Copper Maran pullets for sale.
Thing is, I really only want 2 or 3 , and usually the minimum order is 4 which would be fine with me, however this time of year it's 15 or more!! Way too many for me. And of course I want them now, not in 5 months!!
Thanks
I raise Black Copper Marans. I am down to two boys right now. I had three, but one decided it liked to go after my son when he went to collect the eggs. So, far all the eggs are fertile, because with the winter season giving us such short returns on our table egg coop, we have been eating them. I am hoping my Summer the 20 other hens I am adding to my flock of 5 will be ready to send out hatching eggs. I think that two boys can handle 25 girls okay. I originally thought of three, but I won't breed mean. I eat the mean ones.

You are about 3 some hours south of me. I can try and run a hatch in my incubator if you wanted to come that far to pick them up. I can't ship or sell to you until I get my NPIP off the property. I have five mature hens, and two mature roosters but they are part of my breeding pool, along with 20 little girls in my brooder box, but they are slated for the breeding program.

Well I checked out the Blue Bonnet Classic show in College Station today. Not too enthused with how poultry shows are done, will check out a few others before making a decision if I want to try showing. At this point it is a no though. Did enjoy getting to see all the breeds up close and personal, but most of the ones I have been wanting weren't represented. Also found the Table Top Serama show to be interesting, so time to do more research into the breed.

RoosterCogburn7 - If I remember correctly you were looking into and debating between the Svart Hona and the Ayam Cemani, both breeds were represented at the show. There were two pairs of Cemani, big size difference between them, the smaller ones were possibly a bit young still. There was not much of a size difference between the larger pair and the Svart Honas. The larger pair were from a breeder in Kempner. I am going to try to contact the individual with the Svart Honas that is in Montgomery. The Svart Honas are supposed to lay more eggs.
