Texas

I'm in south east Austin and have muscovy eggs.
I found some chicken eggs close by me. However, if I ever need Muscovy eggs I will let you know. I am hatching Ancona ducks later this Spring.
I'm in Blanco and have fertile eggs. Are you looking for a particular breed? How many? I just incubated my first batch and got 16/19 success.
I found some eggs. If I need more in the future though I will make sure to contact you. That is a GREAT hatch, way to go.

Hey all! I haven't been on here in quite some time! Well, I got laid off from the oilfield last March, which stinks, but it has allowed me the time to go ahead and get my flock going again! So, I placed an order with Meyer for:
5 Standard Cochins (2 white, 3 blue)
10 Light Brahmas
12 Black Australorps
3 Black Jersey Giants
Everything I ordered are pullets except for the BJG because my son REALLY wanted a BJG rooster. I have a few worries about the size of a BJG rooster at maturity compared to that of the hens I ordered. I just don't want any injured hens due to the size of the roo. I haven't been able to find much info about it bUT I did call my county extension agent and she said it shouldn't be an issue. Anyhow, I'd love and appreciate some input from y'all on this. Thanks!!!

Jersey Giants, as you know are massive when fully grown. However, they are also slow to grow. Roosters are also a gamble. I have eaten many a man-hater. I have Roosters, (Not BJG) who are as sweet as can be, and others who have been delicious jerks. I hope you get the laid back variety.

Wow! How great that you will have something that truly give you pride and satisfaction in work.
I know. It will definitely be a mind altering experience. I might be like this guy except that I have hair and do not in any way resemble him:
