Mottled means they are going to get white flecks and look like the Chocolate Orpington version of a Jubalee Orpington.

Can you hear them peeping? Hearing peeps is a sure sign they have internally pipped. They can make a clicking noise that sounds like tapping but it's actually them breathing with their head bent over. There's a thread here somewhere that explains it much better than I can. It's like if you try to breathe with your mouth open and chin smashed against your chest.
It all is soo amazing. Good luck with your hatching.
As long as you seal the sides up, I would say yes for at least a few weeks.

I just need to line the bottom with some cardboard and put the pine flakes in.
Thank you!! Yay!! What do they look like???Looks great!
I have had my chicks for 5 days now...they are stating to get use to me...I think!
I'm still trying to figure out what I actually bought.
Im actually going to have them in the house until they are old enough to be outside. We dont have coons here that i know of, but i have stray cats and i dont want them to get my babies lol.You might want to keep it close to the house, or on the porch, because you used chicken wire. I would make it like that, because it's easy, and keep it close to the house, because we have Coons.
