Hi y'all! New member here, living in beautiful Austin and just starting our first flock. We've got 4 speckled sussex, 1 buff orpington and 1 ameraucana (pretty sure she's actually an easter egger). glad to have a few dry days so we can get the coop finished!

HOWDY AND WELCOME from Rosenberg!!

Well it must be my week for snakes. Yesterday after the storm we had, I was out picking up branches. My arms were full so I couldn't see where I was walking. Something made me look back and I had stepped over a hognose.

Today I was going to finish mucking out the coop when I noticed an egg in the doorway. Behind the egg was a rat snake. I now know where my baby chick went. grrrrrrrr

YUK!
I hate snakes!

My mom is in Needville and lives with a shovel by every door and every 10 trees! lol

You have a smart mom!!!

She lives in the country and ALL of her dogs have been bit a few times each.......She hates snakes but knows to keep that shovel close! Especially after all this darn rain we've been getting.
