Heard a chicken commotion going on yesterday and went outside and GLW wasn't in the run. Looked around and found her in the nest box but no egg. Found two eggs today slightly different colors so both my Wyandottes have started laying. My SLW has been laying for about a week now Now if the slackers will start, lol. They are barely over 4 months old so I'm happy.

Handling chickens, gathering fresh laid eggs (any type of poultry), touching raw meat, especially poultry, all are ways that Salmonella can be spread. Note...can be but not always.

As for kissing chickens, my hens are all spoken for and my rooster is not willing to even discuss an open relationship...so, guess I am out of luck.

I am waiting on my retirement paperwork to clear. I have a permanent disabled placard that little old ladies natter over when my wife and kids get out of the car until my wife retrieves my walker. I guess in their opinion only the obviously geriatric can be disabled. They remind me of the Church Lady from SNL only older and prissier.

It is a good thing that those special parking spaces get used IMO -- I hate to see them always going to waste. Hope all goes well.
