Texas

Chilly and wet, so needless to say my little ladies weren't to happy today. They don't mind the cold but really dislike the rain....till it's over then it's worm time lol!

Welcome from Anhuac (east of Houston). I don't mind the rain, but the cold gets to me. :)

I ordered my flock from Ideal Hatchery. The feed store local does the same. Where did your birds come from?

My first flock of 5 came from Dunham Farms here in Fort Worth. They are excellent show quality birds!! My second addition came from an individual, and the third from a feed store that I think uses Ideal. My latest addition you will not believe how I came to get them as I myself was just horrified...My uncle recently bought a home, when he went to go have a look after closing for the first time the previous owners had left 8 chickens and 2 cats!!! Poor things were out of water and feed, I so wish I had a forwarding address so I could send someone for them to be charged with animal cruelty! Luckily my uncle called me right away and all ended well, but since he wasn't moving in right away it could have been a catastrophy!

Hey Jennifer, I'm in Blue Ridge and would be happy to give you a hen. I have extras. :) It would probably cost you more in gas and tolls than it would be go buy one off Craigs list from someone closer to you. I'm on the other side of the metromess from you.
Hi! Sorry for the delay. We got a call from the SPCA and picked ourselves up a rescue chicken. Thank you though!!

Finally got my coop finished here in Dallas! Hope they stay warm!

Cold? I don't like cold....Im like a lizard, the warmer it is the better.:lau I have family still up in your area, North of Dallas. This white stuff is the reason I moved to South Texas, to get away from it, it's only 31 here in Seguin but that's too cold for me.
Yep where I live it killed my pineapples that were in the ground planted. At least I was able to save the ones that I had in pots. After 12 years in Germany I chose this area to never see that white stuff again!

Houston has a problem...white stuff! Chickens did just fine with nothing added. View attachment 1204610
Yeah I didn't worry about them either just switched em over to a high scratch diet with plenty of corn in it. My old dogs were not impressed at all even though nothing stuck to the ground. I enjoyed the experience though as few people dared to get on the roads! MINE ALL MINE!!!:wee
