Texas

The bird in my avatar pic is my sweet little silkie bantum hen, her name is Peach!! That was her on a rainy day when her poofy, fluffy hair was wet and I just thought she looked super cute so I snapped a picture!

Hello everyone! My name is Jenny and I live in north Texas! I have been raising chickens for about 2 years now and I have 18 chickens - 14 hens and 4 roosters! I just joined BYC and I'm looking forward to sharing stories with fellow chicken parents and learning all that I can!!
Hey Jenny howdy from Weatherford and

Hehe oh yes! Her hair is normally quite fluffy and we joke that the only time she can really see through all that hair is when she is wet and it's slicked back!! She is my smallest hen in the flock, but she basically runs the show and definitely doesn't take any crap from the roosters!!

Yea, 4 roosters!! I am actually looking to re-home at least one of them! This is Juice, a Plymouth rock/silkie bantum and he is very nice to people and the hens, but not so nice to my silkie roosters

Jenny, how does his size compare to your Rhode Island Reds?

Hey all! Anyone in the Dallas area (I'm in McKinney) interested in sharing a mypetchicken.com order with me? I only need/have space for 2 birds this year. I've thought about ordering 2 "spare" to meet the mixed minimum but am a wee bit afraid I'll get attached. :D

Thanks!!
