Texas

Hello, I’m down here in the Very South part of San Antonio. New with baby chicks, did okay with older chickens. Of course, stray dogs, foxes, etc pretty much took out what we had. Starting over has been interesting! Long Live Texas!

Still trying to see if anyone close to Dallas has any hens to rehome, assisting with gathering a few for a Neighborhood garden/chicken coop.. let me know!

Please be careful about taking in older birds. Disease can ruin a flock very quickly.

I have a few BR cockerels born on Valentines Day, near Waco, TX, if anybody wants them! I hate to part with them, but I have a good roo already, and am not set up for multiple roos. :hit If nobody wants them, they are going in my pot... but hubby wont be able to do it for another month. And truth be told, I'm a wee bit nervous to try. (Never done it before, but I have read up about it online)

(I also may have a couple Splash Marans cockerels in a few weeks. Born on Easter)

I'll start this one.

I am in San Marcos, between Austin and San Antonio.

FYI
I have been keeping a spread sheet of Texas BYC members for several years. Right now it has 274 members on it. Of course some are no longer members or might have visited only a few times.

Texas, we are strong !
San Marcos is my hometown! So cool to hear that!
