Texas

BTW did I forget to mention a Brownsville's Tacorioa beat out all of the SAT and Austin ones for best breakfast tacos this year? I'm betting it was the salsa verde.

They haven't been to Hacienda de Ollevida in Seguin, or it would have won best tacos ANYWHERE!
edit- WTH are you eating mexican food from an OH chain anyway?

Oh gosh no we would have needed 2 more meters(yards) of water for any to have made it into the house @RUNuts and 1 more to bother the chicken or our storage sheds. The dogs drug in an extreme amount of mud having fun well that was a different story.

But locals are saying this rain was worse than Hurricaine Dolly. Others are saying worst rains since Buella, but Buella(cat5) was a beast of a storm as she was a Harvey(cat4) event in either 67 or 69. Dropped 30+ inches of rain. Regardless we just experienced a piddly invest that dropped a years worth of rain.

Also I am so happy to hear you are keeping crazy lady happy! I upset mine telling @KikisGirls about swimming with dolphins as she is planning on touring this area soon. Obviously I need to put my swimming trunks on soon and go swim with those darn dolphins(haven't done that yet). I was accused of caring more about Kiki than crazy lady. Crazy Lady is going to get her dolphins! I\m pretty sure what I will be doing this weekend.
I was in Hurricane Buella, we were 90 miles south of Corpus when it hit. Pretty funny watching my mother flying up in the air, trying to take the tent down, before the winds got too high. Just barely made it off the beach, water was already up to the dunes. And we weren't in a 4x4 pickup, just 2 wheel drive!!! Pretty exciting, for a 9 year old.

Only in Texas is a two hour drive close by. I've been in Texas 9 years now and I'm still getting used to people telling me something is, right around the corner, 45 minutes away!:D
Yep, turn right at the 3rd mail box, go until the road forks , take right hand fork, go ovet the train tracks and your there....50miles later!:gig

:yesss: Yes the people who give directions by landmarks!
Or local names for things as if you magically know what they're talking about. Oh she went to the valley. What valley?
Or the ones who tell you that they're from some small town in the middle of nowhere (cause Texas is huge) and when you ask where that is they mention some other slightly bigger town close by... That you still don't recognize! I still think they're making up some of these names.

I am so terrible at following directions! I love GPS. Unfortunately, if you follow GPS in these Texas backwoods you may end up 50 miles from your destination "as the crow flies " Still, I moved home to Texas from Tennessee and if you think the "turn by the red barn" directions are bad here....

:gigI love gps and Google! People ask me directions all the time (maybe I look like I know where I'm going?) and I always have to consult with Uncle Google.:caf Gps can get you in the general direction but with all the construction, you definitely have to anticipate and think ahead, especially since a lot of the major highways near the cities twist around and over each other!

Nope, not made up but real names, like Dimebox, Cut & Shoot, Early, Peggy, Winters, Farwell, Bluemound, Pharr, Rising Star, Happy, Muleshoe, I could go on and on but their real names of real towns.

I live southeast of Mildred, a bit south west of Gun Barrel City, north of Yard (where you can find Yard yard eggs for sale) but I've always wanted to live in Utopia near Leaky.
