Texas

I was just thinking of all you Texans today. Hope you & your flocks are doing ok with this heat. I ended up installing a misting system & it sure makes it more comfortable in the runs. The only chickens that seem to be struggling are my 2 Broody black australorps. (Don’t get me started!)
This picture shows my set up in the background. The fan blows across the tub of water with a large rock inside. Now I have a misting hose placed in front of the fan too. The chickens all gather on top & under the wooden table on the right during the heat of the day.

Hi yes I have been wanting to change my name for a while but did not know I could :) which chick do you mean lol the one that my broody hatched :p she is doing really well and is still walking around with her mama:D
Yes that chick.
Great!

I got a mister hose years ago, but my garden hose kept blowing the mister buttons right off the hose. I even tried a pressure converter nothing worked.

How did you get yours to work?

It maybe because our well pump averages 45-50 psi pressure. This is the one we got from Atwood’s Ranch & Home. We also used small irrigation tubing & connectors to customize. I can post more pics if anyone is interested.

Rake up some leaves, pine needles, lawn clippings, hay...any thing you can find in the yard and throw it in.
Continue to add more stuff weekly or when ever.
