What’s everyone doing to combat the unbelievably awful mosquito esl?

Around here the county sprays for mosquitoes sometimes, the chickens eat a bunch of them, and... I stay indoors during mosquito times hoping not to be carried off alive. We pretend we're joking when we say we let the dogs sleep on the bed so the mosquitoes have something else to bite instead of us.

Every TSC I've been to has had permethrin spray, near the horse supplies (it's good for flies too so it's generally near the fly traps and such). Just for completeness: you should probably spray it on the coop or around the yard and not directly on chickens.

You're right of course, but I'd go for a powder (find it in the garden section) instead of a spray for the chickens, they tend to resent being sprayed and it mostly just drips off from what I can tell.
LOL
I guess it's a personal preference because I prefer the spray.
I think it is easier to use and better for getting into the cracks and such.
