Texas

That's tempting, but our one female is turning out to be tough on the other dogs. She's a bit of a dominatrix, won't let them play with the ball etc, just stands over the toy and bites any other dog who tried to play with it. I think another female in the mix might cause serious fighting.
Females are bitches.

Welcome to the Texas thread, any chance you want a 4th healer? I rescued one off the street last easter she is fully vetted and fixed and an incredibly sweet animal who deserves a furrever home.

I do think this sweet girl will prove to be a most dominant and sweet animal. She is the best and only heeler I have had in my life. Photo is about 1 year old. I was weak and couldn't leave her at the tacoria.

Heelers are very smart. Ours are half terrier, another smart breed. Their dog-IQ is as high as a Chinese test tube baby.
Ours does great even with our 75 pound brutes. Also, I know this is not endearing but she loves men in her life.

Edit-- We do like this heeler but she isn't a dog greater than 50 pounds so isn't for us. She listens like no other animal we own. I want to keep her unless I can find her a heeler home as noone else would understand this breed. Normal dog owners do not understand that getting bitten by your dog insn.t playful joy. Yes, she nips.

Y’all, does anyone have any extra young hens? I’d love to include a few more to my flock before my babies start hatching. Any breed, any mix is great, as long as they are healthy and happy. I’m in Granbury but I’ll happily drive out to you if you are up to an hour, hour and a half away. :wee

P.S Nardo, Chico is doing great :love

My hens treat the dogs and the cat this way too! The hen's are rough on other livestock.

I am not trying to be tacky but doesn't Tractor Supply(TSC) have some type of upcoming event? I would either check craigslist or there since you are only in Granberry not far from the metroplex you have so many options.

Edit- as a dfw native I am allowed to misspell city names. I lived in Wise county as well do not get me started there. Collin, Grayson and Dallas counties could read english. Wise is an exception.

Here’s the thing; IF I’m getting young hens (not baby chicks) I prefer getting them from families that have a few extra hens running around their yard. Hence my question. I don’t want to mail order a full grown bird or buy from a commercial hatchery. That’s just me, not saying it’s the only way. I’d like to replace a few I’ve lost during the winter. I do have a few local people from Craigslist I’m dealing with BUT I wanted to see if anyone from BYC is close and is willing to sell.
