Had 2 oaks cut out of the back yard. :( Oak root rot is getting all of them in the neighborhood.
Tree climber brought me a loquat tree (for a small fee). :D

Anyone tried loquat? The ones at the zoo are nice.
No but if you want your shade back you really might seriously look at those Neem trees I believe you mentioned earlier. I'm pretty sure they have edible parts as well for the next major Harvey or rainstorms locking you in on the property.
 
So as an interesting aside. I invite you to look at what my eggs did under the 365nm blacklight last night. aart had asked about what scorpions do under the light so I obliged with a photo I can't stop looking at. DW snapped a real winner there. I was using that jar for collecting milkweed seeds when this scorpion showed up in an inconvenient location and needed to be trapped.
