Texas

It's been a nice dry heat these last few days. I have been enjoying it a lot. Worked from the pool yesterday :).

Working on a water system to provide extra cold water for the girls. Waiting for the water nipples to arrive in the mail. I was wondering, do you think I should add a water can to the coop with this heat kicking up? I'm worried about them not having it if they need it in there at night.

Do you ever get into Brownsville?

Rebecca
When I make it in to Brownsville it is for the Super HEB run off of Parades and Ruben M Torres. Occasionally we make it to City Hall if there is a protest we are interested in. My wife can't get me to go to those LNG protests any longer as they will never make it to FID. I cant believe our Port really see's that as our way forward when we are an ecotourism region.

Hi there, I've been a member for 5 years, but have never been active. My girls (I still have 2 of the original 4) are 5 years old now, and are basically free loading. I need some new stock, especially during this pandemic when eggs are so hard to find in the store. I purchased my last set at the Georgetown Farm Supply, but sadly, it closed this past year to make room for an Academy Sports. I have called around the Austin area and both Tractor Supply in Cedar Park and Winkley's General Store in Liberty Hill are getting chicks on Thursday. Has anyone purchased from either of these places or have any other recommendations in the North Austin area? I'm looking for Ameraucana, Wyandotte (any), Orpington, Delaware, Barred Rock, Maran, or another docile and hopefully quiet breed. Our Australorp is SO LOUD all day, every day, so I would rather not get another one of those. We have a dog that barks constantly next door, and I don't want to complain about the dog while my chicken cackles all day. We live close to a river and have a hawk problem, so I can't let the roam unless I'm outside with them. Any recommendations appreciated!

Hello from Liberty Hill! Try H and H poultry in Burnet? I got a dozen chicks about 4 weeks ago and they are healthy nice chicks.
