Today was a whopping 15-24% chance of rain..... sprinkle this AM ... nothing to measure.

this evening? Hah! Different story.... ~6:15 it started.... within 30 minutes? Meh, 1.58” and heavy still coming down in waves. Total was over 2” when it finished about 30 minutes ago.

This was afterwards... cute little down burst just north of us.

rescued this bumblebee/drillerbee. Then after setting it on the stepping stone for a bit; moved it onto a stick and placed it under a totes lid to dry off over night.

Yeah, similar for us. The last two forecasted storms split around us, so I thought we were in the clear for the day, but right around 5 pm, it opened up. Got 2.5 inches in less than an hour, then drizzle for 2 more hours. I'm so sick of rain, but also SO glad I picked this property on the hill. Back in Cypress, we'd be slogging through mud all the time, but here, everything runs downhill.

We are also on a hill. Yet, the glaciers deposited a serious layer of rock just below the surface ~3” to almost 18” and can be as thick as 3’ that I have had to dig by hand the first 8 odd years.... not that I have the cub... moving a 1500lb stone is much less pain in the backside.

the soil is a black clay mix that holds the water up on top for hours to days. Hence the ponds all over the yard.

Wow! Where are you that you have glacier issues?? I'm E.Texas. We have clay and sand.

North side of Denton.... of the DFW region. It also helps to be a bit of a geology, geography g33k too. Of course it never hurts to have had extensive dialogue with very well respected Prof’s in these fields of study as folks one can go visit with when trying to solve mineral mysteries from water well...... so yeah.

Well, went to town to play dominoes and go by wallyworld. While in wally the bottom fell out. Rain in buckets and small hail. Sloshed to car, got car to entrance and got j in car without him getting soaked. On to vfw for dominoes, pull to door, j gets out, I park.
I should have been a boy scout. My motto
Be prepared.
I always keep towel, wash cloth (dry) bottle of water, jacket etc... in car. After wallyworld, grabbed towel, dried j and me,
At vfw, grab sweater (I'm soaked) dry washcloth and umbrella, slosh to door
Play dominoes, watching the flood
Get home later after flood in town, damp not wet, gauge shows less than 10th an inch. I'm soaked. I'm carrying 10th of inch in my clothes from town.
We should have stayed home.

We have a compressor that just quit. Do compressor have a reset button, or fuse?
No idea how old it is, or where instructions are, it was here when I got here 7 yrs ago.
How would I go about troubleshooting?
Tractor still stuck.

Oh!
I see (smell) we have a skunk. Saw him just now in yard. Smelled him a few mornings ago.

Probably same storm that hit us at wallyworld. It hit Caldwell about 3:30. I keep forgetting we're fairly close. J has a daughter that lives where you are.
