Let's all just pray it's not as bad as last year! ....but I fear they are 'down playing it', this time around!
I didn't think it would get that bad here....I was definitely wrong! Some of the local weather peeps (San Antonio, San Marcos, Gonzales) are sending mixed signals....some say may be as bad others say not as bad? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Drizzling in Houston since lunch yesterday. I didn't check the gauge on my out this morning but the low spots are holding a little more water.

The bananas are brown and holding. So far the weather hasn't killed the stalks. This hard freeze predicted may do it. 3 bunches of bananas to be lost this year. A third stalk had just started flowering.

The chickens are doing fine and have started laying again. Including the one that hatched in December. 8 weeks and they are on their own. Which means she's getting ready for the spring hatch. That is 4 broods in a year. Super Mama.

I am thinking the same.
I feel this IS being down played and I am trying to prepare. It's a "wait and see" BUT by the time I "see"
It will be too late.
Better to have and not need than need and not have

Updated
𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 posted across the far northern Brazos Valley & into Central Texas.
⏰12am Thursday - 6pm Thursday
⚠️Freezing rain (ice) 0.10" - 0.20" | Sleet up to 0.25"

Freezing rain could sag tree limbs/power lines. Combination of the two will create some slick spots on roads (especially bridges and overpasses)

Depending on forecast trends this will be turned either into a Winter Storm Warning or Winter Weather Advisory sometime Wednesday. As for the rest of the Brazos Valley, some minor accumulations and / or a glazing of ice is still not ruled out. As hi-resolution forecast data gets into range today, we should start to get a better picture of if the concerns need to be brought further south.

More as we know it. Some additional details are included in the link in the comments
