Texas

I have a emu hatched and raised by papa emu this spring for sale or trade. He (gender unknown) wasn't human socialized much so wont be a great pet. Preferably i would trade for another young male emu, rhea hen, or eggs.
I can also consider other trades just make a suggestion but i would like a small capable cabinet incubator since i have no intention of letting my male go wild for six months at a time ever again.

I am in spring branch Texas 78070.

I'm concerned as well. I have wind blocked off on 3 sides of run. Considering blocking 4th side, to hold in heat, I may do that this morning. I added 2 bales of shaving to run. I bought those simply because (after 5 inches rain ) all my leaves, litter etc... in yard IS STILL WET. I'm also worried about temp dropping, forecast says expect it to drop 30-40⁰ in an hour. That's drastic. I've seen it happen before, but not often.

I took care of the chickens this morning... as I was getting their last waterer, the sky turned dark and it felt very weird. I will admit it scared me just a bit! I've secured everything and have made sure everyone is safe and warm. I've been preparing for today for the past 2 weeks! Right now its 35 degrees, real feel 23.

Currently enduring cyclone blasting winds, 24F and dropping with wind chill of?--who knows... Started out at a balmy 55F this a.m. What happened to the sunshine?

I did a 'wind chill test', sitting inside my outdoor coop, holding up my wet hand to test for drafts. So far so good, but will give it a final check at barn time when the girls go to bed. My 4 newbies roost in the outdoor coop, my 2 senior girls are inside the barn in another coop. I think my newbies might be stressed if they had to stay inside the barn coop overnight (heavens, a change ) but I've done it before (different girls) during the Big Texas Freeze in 2021.

My 91 y.o. mom, living independently in Kerrville, lost power around 12:30 pm apparently throughout the town. I doubt she'd consent to staying here in our guest apt. tonight if her power isn't restored. Stubborn ol' bush turkey;)
