But they're all almost ready. The speckled and dark red ragged birds are my oldest girls 2 brown eggs a day

I hear them asking for more leaves. :lau
They'll get em, after this rain, and leaves dry out. Coop litter is puzzling me-not sure what's going on. Bad rain storm, then3 days of drizzle damp, left everything wet in coop. I bought 2 bales pine shavings(no dry leaves here) and scattered in coop with pdz before freeze. No smell, it's drier, not totally but it "looks" funny. Dark mulch mixed with pine

Welcome and Good Morning!
I do stay away from the feather feet but that is because of gumbo mud everywhere (lots of clay). I've had all three of those breeds without issues. I don't think you will have any issues.
I'm considering some black austrolorps also. How would they fare in the heat?
