Our (former) neighbor said she always wanted to name one of her mini- donks Vashti; not sure why she didn't. I think Vashti might have come from the movie "Giant" with Liz Taylor and Rock Hudson ;) I try to pick the 'homespun' or off-the-beaten-track type names for my girls. Vashti was very "special needs" in the end but could give her sisters what-for if they got out of line. Lots of spunk. Her caregiver, other than me, was Celeste, a BA who has a nurturing disposition.

My Vashti's name came from a Louis L'Amour character. I can't even remember what book now, I just remember that it meant "beautiful ". Mine is almost special needs. She doesn't have anything physically wrong with her, but she gives chickens intellect a bad reputation.

I am in Georgetown Texas. Any other chicken lovers here? I actually have 4 lovely hens that I may so so sadly need to rehome and I am looking for someone to love them and provide a loving home for them. No cost, chickens, coop and all their belongings. 😭 💔
I'm sorry you have to give up your chickens. I'm sure you'll find them a great home.
